The event aims to help remove barriers for families looking to adopt and give more pets the opportunity for a fresh start.
FREEHOLD, NJ — In celebration of National Pet Month, Associated Humane Societies is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society and Walmart to host a special fee-waived
adoption event designed to help pets find loving homes.
On Saturday, May 30, community members are invited to visit Walmart in Freehold and meet a wide variety of adoptable dogs, cats, and kittens — all hoping to go home with their new families
the very same day.
As part of the event, adoption fees for all available animals will be completely waived, aiming to help remove barriers for families looking to adopt and give more pets the opportunity for a fresh start.

Attendees can expect a fun, family-friendly atmosphere filled with wagging tails, happy purrs and the opportunity to make a life-changing decision, event officials said.
All adoptions will be completed on-site, and approved adopters should be prepared to bring their new pet home the same day.
Potential adopters are encouraged to bring all household members, including current dogs, to help ensure the best possible match.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, at the Walmart on 326 W. Main Street in Freehold.
