Fire Damages Attic In Freehold Home; Residents Safe: Officials
The fire started in the midst of Friday morning's strong storms.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Residents escaped a house fire safely Friday morning as strong storms rolled through Monmouth County, officials said.
The East Freehold Fire Company posted on Facebook about the fire at a home on Tappan Way, which was reported at 7:25 a.m.
The fire in the attic was quickly extinguished and contained to the attic, fire company personnel said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No fire personnel were injured, the post said.
The post thanked the Freehold Fire Department (Station 15), Freehold Township Ind. Fire Company #1, Adelphia Fire Company, Marlboro Fire Department District #1, Manalapan Township Fire Company 1, and Freehold Emergency Medical Services for assisting on scene, Englishtown Fire Department and Colts Neck #1 for covering Freehold while firefighters were on the scene, along with Monmouth County Communications, and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.
