Fire Hydrant Flushing Set For Freehold
The flushing clears sediment from the water lines and ensures the hydrants are working properly.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Freehold Borough will conduct its spring fire hydrant flushing next week, the borough announced.
The flushing will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, and will continue until all borough hydrants have been flushed.
Residents may notice a slight discoloration of the water as the flushing is conducted in their area. The discoloration is not harmful and will clear up if you allow the water to run for a few extra minutes.

The flushing is performed twice a year to remove sediment that can accumulate in the low-flow areas of the water system. The flushing operation maintains the overall water quality and ensures each fire hydrant operates properly.
