Fire ‘Severely Damaged’ Game Room Store In Freehold: See Details
The store will be closed until further notice following a fire that broke out there on Sunday night.
FREEHOLD, NJ — The Game Room Store’s Freehold location will be closed until further notice following a fire that broke out there on Sunday night.
Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1 was dispatched to the store at 3548 U.S. 9 South for a report of a structure fire.
Once firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw smoke and fire from the back of the building.

From there, units began fire suppression efforts while establishing a water supply.
Crews operated for about an hour and fifteen minutes until the fire was deemed under control.

Additional suppression, investigation, salvage and overhaul were completed at 1:44 a.m.
“We would like to thank all of the first responders that assisted us with efforts,” the fire company said in an online post:
In a statement from The Game Room Store, officials said their Freehold location was “severely damaged” by the fire and that the store will be closed until further notice.
“We’re incredibly grateful that no one was hurt,” officials said. “Right now, our focus is on supporting our team, assessing the situation, and figuring out next steps.”
“We’ve been part of this community for over 25 years, and moments like this remind us how much that support means.”
The Game Room Store officials expressed their gratitude for messages, calls and patience as they work through the incident.
While the Game Room Store’s Freehold location will be closed until further notice, the store’s other locations in Fairfield and Point Pleasant will remain open and operating as usual.
“We’ll share updates as we have them,” store officials said.
In addition to Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1, Freehold Fire Department (Station 15), the East Freehold Fire Company, the Adelphia Fire Company, Manalapan Township Fire Company 1, the Morganville Fire Department and the Millstone Township Fire Department also assisted with suppression efforts.
The Englishtown Fire Department and Howell Station 19-5 assisted with a regional cover for the area.
The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Communications Department assisted with dispatching and ensuring all responding units were given the proper information.
Freehold Emergency Medical Services, the Freehold Township Police Department, the Freehold Township Fire Bureau, the Monmouth County Fire Marshall and Monmouth County Haz-Mat also responded to the fire.
