Forecast Convinces Freehold Area School Officials To Use Final Snow Day
The closures affect PARCC and HSPA testing for students.

The approaching storm and the declaration of a state of emergency declared by Gov. Chris Christie have prompted school officials in the Freehold area to close schools for Thursday.
This is the third snow day for all three districts, using up the three days each district had built into their school calendars. Any additional emergency closures will extend the school year, according to the districts’ calendars.
The Freehold Boro schools’ website said PARCC testing will resume at the Freehold Learning Center when schools reopen.

The Freehold Township schools’ site said kindergarten registration, which was scheduled for this Thursday, has been postponed to Thursday, March 12.
And the website for the Freehold Regional High School District announced the closure of its six high schools and the district’s offices.

“Parents and students should check their high school’s web page for updated PARCC Testing Information,” the announcement said.
Additionally, seniors who were scheduled to take the HSPA on Thursday will take it Friday, March 6 instead.
