UPDATE: Freehold Area Elementary Schools Closed Thursday

The Freehold Regional High School District remained on a delayed opening as of 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Freehold Borough and Freehold Township school districts will be closed Thursday, March 22, officials announced Wednesday evening.

However, the Freehold Regional High School District remained scheduled for a delayed opening as of 11:30 p.m.

The delayed start times are as follows.

  • Freehold, Howell, and Manalapan high schools will begin at 9 a.m.
  • Colts Neck, Freehold Township and Marlboro high schools will begin at 9:55 a.m.

Freehold Borough Superintendent Rocco Tomazic tweeted the delay, but updated with a tweet later saying, "Upon further evaluation of the weather situation and snow clearing operations, the decision for tomorrow is changed. All Freehold Boro schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, March 22nd for the entire day."

Freehold Township officials posted the notification on the district's website.
