Freehold Twp., High Schools Change Delay To School Closure
Friday morning snowfall, slushy conditions lead to decision; Freehold Borough elementary, middle schools opening late.

FREEHOLD, NJ -- Students in the Freehold Township and Freehold Regional High School districts have been given a snow day Friday, the districts announced.
Freehold Borough schools are opening on a 90-minute delayed scheduled.
The high schools and Freehold Township schools initially had planned to open on a delayed schedule, but increasingly slippery conditions have led authorities to close those schools for the day.

The snowfall that began around 5 a.m. has increased in intensity in several areas and with temperatures hovering around freezing, has turned streets and sidewalks into a slippery mess.
Speed limits have been lowered to 45 the entire length of the Garden State Parkway and there have been a number of fender-benders already, as well as reports of a few serious crashes.
