Freehold Attorney Brought Loaded Gun To Courthouse: Prosecutor
The attorney did not have a permit for a firearm, the prosecutor's office said.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — An attorney from Freehold has been arrested after authorities say he tried to bring a loaded handgun into the Middlesex County courthouse, authorities said.
Mark B. Jander, 29, of Freehold, was arrested Monday at the courthouse in New Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Middlesex County Sheriff Mildred S. Scott announced in a joint news release.
The firearm was discovered in his briefcase as his belongings were being scanned at the security checkpoint, the release said.

Jander does not have a permit to have a firearm, authorities said. He has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon and was arrested by sheriff's officers.
There was no information given on why Jander was at the courthouse, and a search online did not turn up specifics on the type of law he practices.
