Freehold Beer Bottle Assault In Car Yields Aggravated Assault, DWI Charges For Howell Couple: Complaint
Breaking: Two children were in the car at the time of the assault, according to the criminal complaints signed by Freehold police.

HOWELL, NJ — A Howell Township man has been charged with aggravated assault after he hit another man in the head with a beer bottle in a car in front of two children, according to a criminal complaint.
Additionally, a Howell Township woman who was driving the car has been charged with driving while intoxicated, according to a second complaint.
The incident occurred Jan. 9 in Freehold, according to the complaints signed by Freehold Borough police that were released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Gabino Cabrera-Cordoba, 36, of Adelphia Road, is accused of hitting the man, who was not identified except for initials, on the left side of his head, "causing serious bodily injury to the victim," the complaint said.
Guadalupe Valverde-Ortiz, 40, of the same address as Cabrera-Cordoba, was charged with driving while intoxicated, the complaint said.

Both were charged with endangering the welfare of Valverde-Ortiz's children, who were identified only by their initials. Cabrera-Cordoba was charged with endangering their welfare by assaulting the victim in front of them, and Valverde-Ortiz was charged with endangerment for driving drunk with the children in the car, the complaints said.
Both are being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, according to online jail records.
Further details on the incident were not immediately available from Freehold Borough police.
