Freehold Man Accused in Bat Attack
Kyshon Richardson was charged with aggravated assault, weapons possession and drug possession.

A 22-year-old Freehold Borough man is accused of attacking another individual with an aluminum bat on Ford Avenue on Sept. 21.
Kyshon Richardson, of Center Street, was arrested on Sept. 23 on a charge of aggravated assault after police say he hit a person in the head with the bat and then kicked and struck the individual, according to Freehold Borough police reports. Richardson was also charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a bat with intent to use it in an unlawful manner.
A 16-year-old male was arrested on Sept. 26 in connection with the alleged assault.

Det. Chris Otlowski interviewed the victim, who identified the accused attackers. While arresting Richardson, Otlowski discovered what he believed to be five ecstasy pills, according to the arrest warrant. Richardson was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Richardson’s bail was set at $96,500 with no 10 percent option. He made bail and was subsequently released.
