“It’s a proud moment tonight for the Freehold Borough Police Department as we swear in the 122nd officer in the history of our department, Yovani Lopez,” Chief Christopher Colaner said during the ceremony.

“About a year ago, I met Yovani, and we kept in touch,” Colaner continued. “He strived to become a police officer, which led him to the Atlantic County police training center...he’s now the 31st police officer on our department, a resident of our township, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.”
