1 Dead In Freehold Car Crash: Police

Law enforcement officials are looking for witnesses to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday in Freehold.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Police are looking for any witnesses to a motor vehicle collision that killed a female driver on Sunday, Feb. 13, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.

At roughly 2 a.m. a 2019 Cadillac XT5 crossover was travelling southbound on Route 9 when they collided with a 2018 Nissan Altima. The crash occurred at the intersection on the southbound side of Route 9 and Route 520, according to an official report.

After the initial collision, the Altima proceeded to hit a nearby telephone pole. Officials immediately took the female driver of the Altima to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was officially pronounced dead at 3:04 a.m.

The driver of the Cadillac XT5 was left uninjured in the crash.

The collision is still under official investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Marlboro Township Police Department.
