Freehold Man Indicted On Nine Counts In Heroin Distribution Case

William Forbes is accused of selling heroin near the Molly Pitcher Apartments and Vineyard Park. A second man was indicted on possession.

Two Freehold men have been indicted on heroin charges stemming from a January arrest in Freehold.

William K. Forbes, 49, of Jackson Street, and Robert Shea, 42, of Throckmorton Street, were indicted Wednesday by a Monmouth County grand jury, according to court documents.

Shea was indicted on a single count of possession of heroin.

Forbes, however, was indicted on nine counts, including two each of possession and possession with intent to distribute heroin. He also was indicted on counts of distribution, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing facility, and distribution within 500 feet of a public housing facility, the Molly Pitcher Apartments, and possession and possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park, Vineyard Park.

Forbes also was indicted on a third-degree count of resisting arrest during the Jan. 11 incident, “creating a substantial risk of causing physical injury.”
