Freehold Raceway To End Operations In December
Raceway management informed employees of their decision in a meeting held on Thursday morning, according to officials.
FREEHOLD, NJ — Freehold Raceway will officially end operations in December, Freehold Borough Mayor Kevin Kane said.
According to Kane, Raceway management informed employees of this decision in a meeting held on Thursday morning.
Raceway operations will officially end on Dec. 28, Kane said.

"The Raceway has a long and storied history in the Borough of Freehold," Kane said. "But, faced with declining interest in standardbred harness racing, the raceway's fortunes went into a long, slow decline."
