Freehold Township Announces Hydrant Flushing For Spring

Residents may notice a discoloration in the water when hydrants will be flushed in their areas of town, officials said.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Freehold Township Water Department will do its spring flushing of fire hydrants from March through June, water officials announced.

Residents in each community will be notified starting on March 21 and ending on June 24, officials said.

The flushing will be done between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Residents may notice a difference in water pressure and discoloration of the water during flushing, according to officials. If the water is discolored, run the cold water tap until it runs clear.
