Freehold Township Day To Celebrate Community, Veterans

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, N.J.— The 19th annual Freehold Township Day is July 9 at Michael J. Tighe Park, 65 Georgia Tavern Road. The event takes place from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Freehold Township in partnership with the Veterans Community Alliance.

There will be free rides, local organizations and vendors represented and a Teen Center. The Phil Engel Band is on the main stage.

Fireworks are at 9 p.m.

Another major attraction is the Don't Forget the Vets Car Show by the Old Glory Cruisers Car Club that starts at 3 p.m. There will be more than 100 cars to show support for veterans.

The Veterans Community Alliance was formed to bring awareness to the community while helping veterans, its website says. It has partnered with the township for several years to bring Freehold Township Day to local residents.

The purpose of the Veterans Community Alliance is to honor and celebrate those who are serving or have served in the military; to bring awareness to the community that there are veterans that need our help; and to help veterans and show them we have not forgotten them, a news release about the organization says.
