Freehold Township Police Seeking Leads After Stabbing

The victim was listed as being stable; he was hospitalized with an abdominal wound, police said.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — Freehold Township police are investigating a stabbing that happened Sunday when a man who said he was attacked by two men.

Police were called to Stonehurst Boulevard at 10:23 p.m. on Jan. 6 and found a 24-year-old man with an abdominal wound. The victim told officers he was assaulted by two men wearing masks; they beat him and and then stabbed in the abdomen, police said in a post on the department's Facebook page.

The two suspects ran away, he said. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where he remains and is listed as being in stable condition, police said.

The two suspects remained at large and Freehold Township Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 732-462-7500 or 732-294-2110. Detective Burdge and Police Officer Borriello are investigating.

Freehold Township Police have increased patrols in the area, the post said.
