Freehold Twp. H.S. Student Honored For Community Service

Sonika Vatsa, a senior, was among those lauded by the Monmouth County Guidance Director Association with the 2015 Caring Award.

Sonika Vatsa, a student at Freehold Township High School, says she loves helping people.

Whether it’s raising money through the CRY (Child Rights and You) organization to help children in India, spending time with senior citizens through the Glamour Gals organization, or serving as a junior member of the local first aid squad, Vatsa loves having a positive impact.

It is these activities and more that have earned her the school’s Monmouth County Guidance Director Association’s Caring Award. This award is voted on by the high school’s guidance department for a student who has volunteered their time, effort, dedication and has made a difference in their community, according to a news release from the Freehold Regional High School District. The Monmouth County Guidance Director Association is a professional, nonprofit organization of school counseling (guidance) directors from public and private schools in Monmouth County.
