Girl Scouts Fall Product Program highlights leadership experience

Girl Scouts kick-off fall program to teach girls leadership and business skills

The Girl Scout Fall Product Program kicks off Friday, September 27. This annual Girl Scout tradition gives Girl Scout friends and family the opportunity to purchase nuts, candy and magazines from Girl Scouts they know.

Through the Fall Product Program, Girl Scouts kick start their membership year while helping their troops with funds for their service projects, adventures and experiences. Teaching girls how to manage an online business and enhance their entrepreneurial skills are both essential components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Whether they are buying for themselves or getting a head start on holiday shopping, customers have the opportunity to purchase nuts, candy and magazines in person from a Girl Scout or online.

Girl Scouts who participate in the Fall Product Program earn rewards and funds for program activities throughout the year they also learn five key entrepreneurial skills: people skills, money management, business ethics, goal setting and decision making. Girls practice these skills while earning rewards and funds for their troop while providing essential funds to Council programs.

This year, every Girl Scout who participates in the Fall Product Program has the opportunity to create their own custom avatar that looks just like them. The avatar is used in emails they send to family and friends throughout the Fall Product Program and they can even get their avatar made into a patch to wear on their uniform if they reach certain goals.
