Since 2003, Dr. Delgado has also served Ranney as a three-season coach, working with the spring Track and Field teams as well as the Cross Country team, which led to one Cross Country Girls’ prep championship and two Cross Country Girls’ Patriot Conference Championships. His passion for endurance running led to the foundation of a winter track team and the Ranney Running Club during the 2006 season. The Running Club provides students, faculty and alumni with an opportunity to socialize out of school while also competing in races from 5k to full marathons (including marathon runs in Philadelphia, Disney World, Paris and Iceland). This year, students have already raced in the Color Run and Electric Run and will begin training for the 8th annual Disney World marathon weekend.
Dr. Delgado has served as an administrator at the school as well, holding the position of Dean of Students in the Upper School for three years. He recently returned to the classroom as the History Department Chair and is teaching AP World History once more. Having coordinated the Upper School’s international spring break trips since 2010, he is using this experience and his new role as History Chair to explore bringing opportunities for global awareness and education to the school.
