Local Teacher Attends Harvard Business School Project
The League of Women Voters (LWV) is pleased to announce Stacey Gregorakis, an AP Government and Politics teacher at Howell High School, was nominated to attend the symposium and received a $100 check from the League to use for her travel expenses to attend the Harvard Business School (HBS) Case Method Project in Boston, MA, on August 18-20, 2019. In addition to the League’s donation, the Howell Democratic Club and the Howell Republican Club also donated $100 each for Stacey to use towards her travel expenses.
“The Harvard Case Study Method puts students in the position to make decisions based on the discussion and debate cultivated by the lesson. I was so proud to bring this back to Howell High School and have my students engage with this style of teaching. My students were so excited to participate in a study by Harvard University and were terrific at the lesson,” Stacey explains.

The Harvard Case Method Project of Teaching History is where teachers learn how to use the case-based teaching method used in the Harvard Business School and other graduate and professional programs. “The case method can be…effective at engaging students with topics in history and democracy….and presents a unique opportunity to help reverse the broad decline in civic education,” according to the HBS website.
