Man Indicted In Sex Assault At Monmouth County Nursing Home: Prosecutor

The man is accused of sexually assaulting another patient; authorities are asking anyone else victimized to come forward.

FREEHOLD, NJ — A man who was a patient at a Monmouth County nursing home has been charged with sexually assaulting another patient, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Alvin Flippin, who will be 39 years old on Sunday, is charged in the indictment with one count each of second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, the prosecutor's office said.

Flippin was a resident at Wardell Gardens, a nursing and rehabilitation facility in Tinton Falls, in April, when police were called on a report that a resident had been sexually assaulted, the prosecutor's office said. The Tinton Falls Police Department responded to the April 4 call and learned a 58-year-old resident of the facility had been sexually assaulted by another resident, identified as Flippin, the prosecutor's office said.
