Manalapan Man Arrested at Freehold Shooting Scene, Charged With Assaulting Officer
The injuries a Freehold man suffered in Sunday's shooting were not life threatening, according to authorities.

A 41-year-old Freehold Borough man was shot Sunday at 5:21 p.m. at a Liberty Park baseball field, Lt. Mark Wodell confirmed.
The man sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO) Public Information Officer Charles Webster.
Police do not have anyone in custody in connection with the shooting, Wodell said.
Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Marc LeMieux said Carson Crooms, 34, of Manalapan was arrested at the scene after an altercation with police, but the arrest is unrelated to the shooting.
County records indicate Crooms was taken to the Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and fourth-degree obstruction.
The Freehold Borough Police Department (FBPD) is conducting a joint investigation with the MCPO into the shooting, according to Wodell. Detective John Reiff is leading the investigation for the FBPD.
