CentraState Medical Explorers Program Gives Students A Glimpse Of Health Care Fields
The program, run in conjunction with the Boy Scouts, gives high school students a glimpse into medical professions.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — A group of 79 area high school students spent their summer not on the beach, but taking part in a program at CentraState Medical Center that gives them an overview of medical professions.
The Medical Explorers Program, run by the hospital in partnership with Boy Scout Troop 255, marked its second year of existence. It is open to teens and young adults ages 14 to 20.
Students explored up to 15 health care topics through interactive workshops provided by 34 experienced health care professionals at CentraState Medical Center, the hospital said in a news release.

In addition, CentraState was honored by the Boy Scouts of America Monmouth Council with the William H. Spurgeon III Award, which is the highest recognition for individuals and organizations contributing significant leadership to the Exploring program.
