NJ Restaurant Named As One Of The Top 100 In The U.S.

FREEHOLD, NJ — A Monmouth County restaurant has been named to Yelp’s 2026 list of the Top 100 U.S. Restaurants, marking its spot as the only New Jersey dining location on the list.

618, located on Park Avenue in Freehold Borough, was named to the ranking, which showcases “the highest-reviewed restaurants, diners, fast-casual spots, food halls and more – all ranked by the Yelp community.”

Of the 100 restaurants included in the list, 618 came in at #95 and has been described by reviews on Yelp as “warm and inviting,” “a must-go location,” and as encompassing “everything a great restaurant should be.”

“We are a modern rustic restaurant, bar and banquet facility in Freehold, NJ,” Owner Matthew Borowski said on the restaurant’s Yelp page. “We are proud to offer a menu that reflects seasonal availability with a creative style that appeals to a variety of palates.”

At 618, diners can choose from a variety of menu options that include dinner, dessert, cocktails and wines.

Their current food options range from small plates such as stuffed mushrooms and Cajun BBQ shrimp to pastas such as short rib ravioli and seafood like grilled butterflied branzino.

In addition to the food at 618, the restaurant also offers private event spaces that can be used for weddings, birthdays and more, as well as special events, dinners and classes for guests.

In Yelp's 13th annual list of the best U.S. restaurants, 618 is among a Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse, a pop culture-inspired pizza joint and more.

The list also includes the year's hot trends, ranging from "grandma-core" dining to Japanese cuisine and Gen Z-approved dress-up destinations. To read the full Yelp list, you can click here.

Prior to making Yelp’s 2026 ranking of the Top 100 U.S. Restaurants, 618 was also named to OpenTable’s list of the most romantic restaurants in the U.S. multiple times.

In a 2023 interview with Patch, 618 Co-Owner Liz Borowski described making the OpenTable list multiple times as "an honor" and said that they love to share special occasions with their guests.
