Anthony Lindburgh Pitts was a father, cooking instructor, and congregant of New Hope Baptist Church.

Anthony Lindburgh Pitts, 49, of Freehold, died Monday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong resident of Freehold.
He was a cooking instructor for the State of New Jersey for 30 years at the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital and later at New Lisbon Developmental Center, New Lisbon.
He was a member of , Freehold.

A brother, Vincent Pitts, died in 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Chantay Pitts; a stepson, Ahmad Wilkins; his parents, Jesse and Ceola Bonner Pitts; two brothers, Nathan and McKenzie Pitts; two sisters, Rose Marie Calhoun and Aldertha Pitts; a stepson, Jason Lawrence; two grandchildren, Zamere Desai and Zasear Butts; his godchildren, Brittany Bonner, Kelly, Ashley, Jason, Jr. and Monserrat Nicholson; and friends, Jason, Freddie Cobb, and Juicy.

The viewing will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold on Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at noon followed by interment at , Freehold. , Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
