Obituary: Claire W. Ritterman, 89

Claire W. Ritterman, 89, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, formerly of Freehold, died Wednesday, Oct. 5 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Ritterman was born in Pittsburgh, PA and had resided in Freehold before moving to North Carolina in 2005.

She was a member of , the Freehold Jewish Center, in Freehold and a past president of the congregation’s Sisterhood.

Her husband, Irving Ritterman, was a past president of Congregation Agudath Achim. He died in 1980.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen D. and Jim Hackbarth, and a granddaughter, Erin, and her fiancé, Nevin Markel.

Funeral services will be held at the , 20 Center Street in Freehold, on Monday at noon followed by interment at Monmouth Fields Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
