Optimum Quietly Raises Rates
Optimum adds a mandatory fee to all customers who have internet service.
If you didn't read your latest Optimum bill closely, you may have not noticed that they are increasing their prices to all customers who have any type of internet service to their homes in our area starting February 2019. Instead of raising the price of their internet packages, they tacked on a mandatory fee described on the bill as "Network Enhancement Fee" of $2.50. It takes several clicks to get deep enough into your bill online in order to see the fee.
When Optimum is contacted about opting out of this fee, you will be informed that you cannot. Therefore, they are raising their least expensive internet service package by almost 4%, rather stealthily.
