Union Beach Man Killed On Route 537 In Freehold Twp: Prosecutor

The incident happened Thursday evening near the Route 33 bypass, authorities said.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian who was hit and killed Thursday night on Route 537 has been identified as a Union Beach man.

Kevin McMillen , 64, of Union Beach, was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m., Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said Friday.

McMillen was walking on Route 537 — also known as West Main Street — near the Route 33 bypass in Freehold Township at 5:41 p.m. when he was hit in the westbound lane by a a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Andrea Glazewski, 43, of Farmingdale.

Glazewski was not injured, and no charges have been filed, Gramiccioni's office said.

The crash was investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and Freehold Township Police Department. The road was closed for about four hours, reopening about 10 p.m., Freehold Township police said.
