Resource Fair For Recovery Court Members Is Tuesday In Freehold

Participants in Monmouth County's recovery court program can learn about housing and food assistance and other services at Freehold event.

FREEHOLD, NJ — The Monmouth County courts will hold a recovery court resource fair on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the south lawn of the Monmouth County Courthouse, 71 Monument Park.

Representatives from various state and county agencies will be on site to provide recovery court participants with information on resources available for housing, food and medical needs, and peer recovery support.

“We look forward to connecting recovery court clients with community members and agencies so they can maximize valuable resources that may help them on their journey to recovery,” Assignment Judge Lisa P. Thornton said.

In case of bad weather, the event will be held in the jury assembly room of the courthouse, on the lower level of the west wing.

Recovery court, or drug court as it was named, is a specialized probationary program for non-violent offenders who suffer from a substance use disorder, the Monmouth County courts website says.

The goal of recovery court is to assist individuals in establishing and maintaining recovery and to live healthy and crime-free lives.
