Both Freehold High Schools Make Top 600 In 'Newsweek' National High Schools List
Newsweek has announced its rankings of more than 700 public, private, charter and magnet schools across the country.

Newsweek has announced its rankings of more than 700 public, private, charter and magnet schools across the country, and Freehold Township and Freehold Borough High Schools came in at 398 and 576, respectively.
Newsweek used six indicators for its ranking methodology, its Daily Beast website said, including graduation and college acceptance rates; college-level courses and exams; percentage of students with free or reduced lunch; and SAT and ACT scores.
According to the ranking, Freehold Township High School had a 95-percent graduation rate; 94.5-percent college-bound rate; and a 23-percent free and reduced lunch rate. Freehold Borough High School had a 92.2-percent graduation rate; 85-percent college-bound rate; and a 25-percent free and reduced lunch rate.

The average SAT scores for Freehold Township High School students were 1558 and 22.4, respectively, the rankings showed. For Freehold Borough, they were 1598 and 23.7, respectively.
Other metrics showed the percentage of students in the school enrolled in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs.
