It may be only the beginning of July but September is just around the corner and one local organization is looking to make the start of the new school year easier for some local college students.
The Freehold chapter of the American Association of University Women is taking applications for their Lew Williams and Leila Sulkes Scholarships for the upcoming school year. Each scholarship is for $2000 and open to residents of Freehold, Colts Neck, Howell, Manalapan and Marlboro.
Other criteria include applicants being women over the age of 25 and enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a minimum of 60 credits and six credits completed respectively. Applicants also need to have a GPA of at least a B in order to qualify.
