Thermo Systems - 2019 HIREVets Medallion Awards Winner
On November 6, officials from Thermo Systems, E Windsor (www.thermosystems.com) were in Washington DC accepting a HireVet Medallion Award.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, representatives from Thermo Systems, East Windsor, NJ (www.thermosystems.com) were in Washington DC accepting a HireVets Medallion Award for our company - Thermo Systems - from US Secretary of Labor Gene Scalia and Brigadier General of the Marines James Bierman.
The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that recognizes a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.
“Veterans give an incredible gift to this country, and that giving doesn’t stop when they leave the military. From technical know-how to leadership skills honed on the battlefield, veterans have a wide range of abilities that make them tremendous assets for the American economy and for any employer,” said former U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta.

“The Department of Labor looks forward to shining the spotlight on employers who make hiring veterans a priority and encouraging other employers to hire our nation’s heroes.”
The department established two levels of awards for large employers: the Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award and the Platinum HIRE Vets Medallion Award. The department also established similar awards for small and medium-sized employers.

Criteria for these awards include:
Percentage of employees who are veterans;
Percentage of veteran employees who are retained;
Establishment of veterans' assistance and training programs;
Employment of dedicated human resources professionals for veterans; and Income and tuition support for veterans.The department solicits, verifies, and reviews award applications from employers on an annual basis, and awards are presented in celebration of Veterans Day.
