Canadian high pressure will provide a cool and tranquil start to the week with clear skies and light northwesterly winds. However, by tomorrow morning an area of low pressure in the Central Plains this morning will produce periods of showers, heavy at times. Tranquil weather returns again for the rest of this week.
Today, clear skies to scattered cloud cover can be expected as high pressure drifts over the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas. Winds will veer from the northwest to the north at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 60’s over the interior and upper 60’s to lower 70’s along the coast.
Tonight, the area of low pressure over the Plains will rapidly race towards the Mid Atlantic coast leading to increasing clouds through the evening and showers developing after 1 AM. Overcast skies and scattered showers can be expected throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas by tomorrow morning. Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will fall into the upper 40’s to lower 50’s over the interior, mid to upper 50’s over the western suburbs of Philadelphia and New York City, and upper 50’s to lower 60’s along the immediate coast and in urban areas.

Tomorrow, the showers will linger until 10 AM over the Philadelphia metropolitan areas, 12 PM over the New York City metropolitan areas, and 2 PM over eastern Connecticut and Long Island. Skies will clear in the late afternoon from west to east. Winds will back from the northeast to northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 70’s for highs.
Canadian high pressure will be in control tomorrow night on through Saturday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover. Cool conditions will be in place with temperatures averaging near to below normal through the period. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 40’s over the interior, upper 40’s to lower 50’s over the western suburbs of New York City and Philadelphia, and lower to mid 50’s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mdi to upper 60’s over the interior, upper 60’s to lower 70’s over the New York City metropolitan areas, and lower to mid 70’s over the Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
