Otherwise, tranquil conditions can be expected until Thursday and Friday when a warm front attempts to move through the region.
Today through Wednesday, scattered cloud cover can be expected with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening. The thunderstorms will be capable of very heavy, brief downpours, frequent lightning, small hail, and wind gusts over 40 mph. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40's for lows and upper 60's to lower 70's for highs with the exception of the immediate coast and Long Island where temperatures will hold in the mid 60's for highs.

A cold front will follow on Friday night and will stall over the region on Saturday and Sunday with broken to overcast skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 50's for lows and lower to mid 70's for highs.
