Want To Prepay Your 2018 Freehold Property Taxes? Here's Info
The tax reform bill signed into law limits the property tax deduction to $10,000; many are hoping to maximize their 2017 deduction.

FREEHOLD, NJ -- If you are considering prepaying your 2018 property taxes, tax collectors around the area say time is running out to do so.
As a result of the tax bill signed into law last week that changes the tax code, the deduction for state and local taxes -- including property taxes -- is now limited to $10,000. As a result, many people are seeking to prepay their 2018 property taxes to maximize their state and local tax deduction for 2017.
The Freehold Borough Tax Collector's office, located at 51 West Main St. in Freehold, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 732-462-4200 for specifics on when you must pay your taxes by to receive credit for payment in 2017.

Freehold Township residents wishing to prepay must deliver their payments by not later than 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29. Any payments received by mail or left in the drop box after 3 p.m. on Friday will be considered received as of the next business day, which is Tuesday, Jan. 2. The tax collector's office is at 1 Municipal Plaza, Freehold.
Residents are urged to check with their tax adviser to make sure this will benefit them.
