Watch Out For Phone Scam, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Warns
Authorities are urging residents not to give out personal information or transfer funds to any suspicious callers.
FREEHOLD, NJ — The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is warning residents of a recent phone scam where callers claim to be MCPO staff.
According to the prosecutor's office, these callers falsely report to local residents that a warrant has been issued for their arrest due to failure to appear for a court hearing.
"To be clear: such information is not ever communicated by any member of this office via telephone," the prosecutor's office said. "This is very obviously an attempted scam or method by which to spread misinformation."
