Bike The Freehold Stretch Of The Henry Hudson Trail On Saturday
The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is hosting a four-mile bicycle ride on Freehold's portion of the Henry Hudson Trial this Saturday.
FREEHOLD, NJ — A four-mile bicycle ride is being offered this Saturday, July 16, at the source of the Henry Hudson Trail, which begins in the borough and extends to Sandy Hook.
This ride is limited to two miles out and two miles back, beginning at 4:45 p.m., with riders meeting at the Freehold Learning Center parking lot, 30 Dutch Lane Road.
It is a special event as part of the Mayor's Wellness Campaign and Neighborhood Connections To Health. The Wellness Campaign offers weekly Walk Around Town tours of the borough, a free weekly yoga class and encourages buying fresh produce at the Downtown Freehold Farmers Market on Fridays in town.

As residents began to emerge from COVID restraints, Deputy Borough Clerk Lynn Cannon said the town wanted to offer residents activities to "get people out and get going." she said. She is also secretary to the Board of Health.
The ride, except for crossing certain roads, is free of traffic and paved and is safe to bicycle on, she said.

She said anyone who joins the ride should ear a helmet and bring water to drink. But the ride is starting after the worst heat of the day, so it should be comfortable, Cannon said.
