1 Killed, 1 Hurt When Car Crashes Into Tree In South Jersey: Cops
One man was pronounced dead on the scene after the car left the road and crashed into a tree early Thursday morning.

One person was killed and another was seriously injured when a car struck a tree in South Jersey early Thursday morning, police said.
A 25-year-old Bridgeton man was pronounced dead on the scene after a car left the road on Millville Avenue in Hamilton Township and struck a tree at about 2:51 a.m. on Dec. 20, according to police.
A 24-year-old Bridgeton man sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to Hamilton Township Police. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by the Hamilton Township Rescue Squad.

Neither man was identified by police, pending notification of next-of-kin. Neither man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, police said. The investigation continued Thursday morning, and no additional information was immediately released by police.
Traffic was diverted around the area for approximately four hours while the accident was investigated and the scene was cleared of debris. The Mays Landing and Laureldale fire departments, along with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, also responded to the scene.
