1 Killed, Another Injured In Atlantic City Shooting: Prosecutor

Malae Johnson, 19, was killed and another person was injured in an Atlantic City shooting on Sunday, authorities said.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting Sunday in Atlantic City that killed one man and injured another.

Malae Johnson, 19, of Mays Landing, was killed on Sept. 25, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Atlantic City police responded to the Pacific Food Market at 1009 Pacific Ave. for reports of two people with gunshot wounds, authorities said. It was not clear if the shooting happened inside or outside of the building.

Both people were treated and taken to the emergency room, where Johnson was pronounced dead, authorities said. Authorities did not release any information about the other victim.

No information about potential suspects was released.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating the shooting.
