2 Fishermen Rescued From Separate Boats Off Atlantic City Coast: Coast Guard
The fishermen were both suffering from severe seasickness.
The Coast Guard rescued two fishermen from two separate fishing vessels near Atlantic City on Thursday.
The two fishermen were suffering from severe seasickness about 60 miles east of Atlantic City, according to the Coast Guard, which dispatched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter air crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City to respond.
"It's not often we perform two medevacs with one helicopter, but the fact that we were able to perform two different rescue missions at the same time just goes to show the Coast Guard's ability to adapt and overcome challenges faced in a dynamic environment like the sea," said Petty Officer 3rd Class Josh Register, the rescue swimmer on the case. "From a rescuer’s perspective, it felt great to be able to get on-scene and assist people who urgently needed our help."
