2 Injured In 3-Car Crash In Galloway: Police

The accident took place Friday morning.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two people were injured following a three-car crash near the intersection of Pomona Road and Delaware Avenue Friday morning, Galloway Township Police said.

Jeffrey Ross, 55, of Mays Landing, and 60-year-old Michael Clayton, of West Creek, were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City for non-life threatening injuries after they were rescued from their respective vehicles by fire and medical personnel.

Ross was driving a Hyundai Elantra north on Pomona Road in the area of Delaware Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. Friday when he crossed the center line and hit the side of a southbound Freightliner box truck driven by 32-year-old Chester Goode, of Egg Harbor City.

The box truck veered off the road, and the Elantra stopped at the point of impact in the road. Clayton was driving a Chevy Uplander van north behind the Elantra and could not stop in time to avoid striking the Elantra. The van then veered off the road and struck a tree.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half. Ross was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane.
Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Officer Alex Bennett at 609-652-3705, ext 5108.
