2 Men Arrested With Loaded Stolen Handgun in Galloway: Police
The men were arrested on Pitney Road Monday afternoon.
Galloway, NJ -- Two Galloway men were arrested after police discovered a stolen gun in their car Monday afternoon, Galloway Township Police said.
Antoine D. McCoy, 27, was charged with possession of a weapon (handgun), possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of stolen property, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine).
William C. Smith, 29, was charged with possession of a weapon (handgun), possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of stolen property, possession of hollow point bullets and certain persons not to possess firearms.

The arrests were made after a Galloway resident called 911 to say they had just seen a man with a handgun inside a four-door Hyundai on Collins Road around 1:34 p.m. The resident provided a partial NJ registration.
As officers responded to the area, a patrolman saw the car traveling south on Pitney Road. It was ultimately stopped and searched on Pitney Road at Town Center Drive.

Police say they recovered a Ruger .380 handgun, loaded with hollow-point bullets, in a backpack on the rear seat. Police say they later learned that the handgun was reported stolen out of Alabama.
Police allege they found small amounts of marijuana and cocaine in the car and/or on the two men.Bail was set at $150,000 for McCoy, and $100,000 for Smith. Both were lodged in Atlantic County Jail.
