GALLOWAY, N.J. — Two teens were charged with making possible threats to Absegami High School on Thursday, Galloway police said. No weapons were involved, and there was no physical threat on school grounds, according to authorities.

Galloway Township PD was contacted at 6:30 a.m. Thursday about social media posts with possible threats. Police and school staff quickly identified the student. Authorities subsequently found another student involved, police said.

Both were charged with creating a false alarm and released to their parents, pending juvenile court proceedings, police said.

"The Galloway Township Police Department would like to thank the students and parents who reported this incident as well as the Absegami High School staff who assisted in identifying the juveniles, as their actions were integral to mitigating the alarm caused by the social media posts," GTPD said.
