2 Teens Charged In Stolen Car Investigation: Galloway Police
While investigating the attempted theft, police said that they found two additional stolen cars in the area.
GALLOWAY, NJ — A reported attempted car theft in Galloway led to the discovery of two additional stolen cars, police said.
Police were dispatched to the Mohave Drive area shortly before 4 a.m. on Feb. 14 for the report of three people trying to break into a Kia.
When police arrived, the three tried to flee the scene, police said. One, a 16-year-old from Pleasantville, was captured and taken into custody, police said.

Later that morning at about 5:30 a.m., a Rumson Drive resident called police to say a teen boy was at his door, requesting to use his cell phone.
The 15-year-old Absecon boy was involved in the earlier car theft, as police determined when they arrived.

Both boys were criminally charged and released to their guardians pending a future court date.
While police were checking the area for the suspects, they found a 2017 Hyundai Elantra on Mohave Drive with damage to the windshield and roof. Investigation found that it had been stolen out of Pleasantville, police said.
Also, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen from Iroquois Drive, which was later found in a parking area off Society Hill Drive, police said.
The case is still under investigation and additional charges are pending, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Galloway police.
Additionally, police remind the public that motor vehicle burglaries and thefts continue to be a problem and that residents should "lock their vehicle doors, keep valuables out of sight, be vigilant, and immediately report any suspicious activity to police."
The police department is still offering free steering wheel locks to Hyundai and Kia owners who live, work, go to school, or travel through Galloway Township.
"Take the steps to prevent yourself from becoming a victim," police said.
