23 New Positive Coronavirus Cases In Atlantic County, Total At 75

Eleven people have recovered from COVID-19, according to county officials.

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — Officials reported 23 new cases Friday of the novel coronavirus in Atlantic County, raising the county total to 75. Six additional people have recovered from the virus, giving the county 11 total recoveries.

Officials reported Atlantic County's first death from the virus Thursday. The victim was an Egg Harbor Township man in his late 50s with underlying health conditions that put him at greater risk of complications from the coronavirus.

Governor Phil Murphy announced 4,372 new cases — New Jersey's highest daily figure yet — and 113 more deaths. The state has reported 29,895 positive cases and 646 deaths from the virus. Read more: Coronavirus Surpassing NJ's Top Causes Of Death As 113 More Die

Atlantic County has not released a breakdown of cases by municipality. Friday's newly reported cases included 10 men, ranging from 29 to 69 years old; and 13 women, ranging from 31 to 81.
