3 Charged With Murder In 2016 South Jersey Black Friday Shooting
Two brothers were shot outside of a shopping mall on Black Friday 2016. Their shooters have now been identified, authorities say:
MAYS LANDING, NJ — Three men from Egg Harbor City were charged with murder and other offenses in connection with a homicide outside of the Hamilton Mall on Black Friday in 2016, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said Monday.
Steven Martinez, 30, Timothy Davis, 27, and Malik Boone, 30, were charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses in connection with the death of Demond Cottman on Nov. 25, 2016, authorities said.
Martinez and Davis are both currently incarcerated, authorities said, and Boone is a fugitive at large.

On Nov. 25, 2016, at about 1:15 a.m., the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to the parking lot of the Hamilton Mall for reports of shots fired, authorities said.
They found two men who had been shot. One was Demond Cottman, 20, who was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The other was his brother, then 26-year-old Shadi Cottman, who had been shot in the leg, Patch reported at the time.

Martinez was one of 30 busted following a several year-long investigation into heroin distribution in Atlantic County. He was named as one of the leaders in this drug ring and was also found to be responsible shooting and killing of Demond Tally, 45, on Feb. 10, 2019, Patch previously reported. Demond Tally was the father of Demond Cottman.
