4 Hospitalized After Boat Runs Aground At South Jersey Park: Police
The boat was on the South River in Atlantic County when it ran into the marsh and hit several trees, police said.
MAYS LANDING, NJ — Four were hospitalized after a boat ran aground at a South Jersey park on Sunday, according to authorities.
The 18-foot vessel was on the South River in Estell Manor Park when it ran into the marsh, striking several trees around 6 p.m., New Jersey State Police told Patch.
Several passengers were injured, police said. The Dorothy Volunteer Fire Department said that four were taken to area hospitals and shared photos showing the boat in the marsh, away from the water.

One of the injured was a young child who was airlifted, NJ Advance Media reported.
The operator of the boat, 37-year-old Daniel Bollinger of Egg Harbor City, apparently fled the scene before authorities arrived, police said. He then turned himself in to the Buena Vista State Police Station where he was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury and assault by auto.
