Absecon Police Charge Two in Sunoco Burglaries

Jack Kalman, 49, and Arthur Schellinger III, 53, were charged in three separate burglaries at Sunoco Gas & Minimart on Aug. 2, 8 and 24.

Absecon Police have arrested a pair of Absecon residents following a three-week investigation into burglaries at local businesses.

Jack Kalman, 49, and Arthur Schellinger III, 53, were charged in three separate burglaries at Sunoco Gas & Minimart located at 471 White Horse Pike on Aug. 2, 8 and 24, police announced Monday night.

In all three burglaries, forced entry was made into the business and cash and large amounts of nicotine products were stolen. Surveillance video and evidence recovered at the scene resulted in the suspects being identified.

Kalman was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy and two counts of theft.

Schellinger III was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy and three counts of theft.

Both suspects were lodged in the Atlantic County Jail. Kalman was lodged on $30,000 cash bail, while Schellinger III was lodged on $50,000 cash bail.

Detectives continue to investigate numerous other burglaries.
