Absecon Woman Dies in Two-Car Crash in Galloway

Her car collided head-on with a truck early Thursday morning.

An Absecon woman is dead following a two-car accident on South Pitney Road and Upland Avenue that took place Thursday morning, according to Galloway Township Police.

Constance M. Polistina, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1999 Honda CRV she was driving collided with a 2015 Freightliner M21 truck being driven by 55-year-old Anthony D. Pryor, of Elizabeth, around 7:44 a.m.

Pryor sustained minor injuries. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division, where he was treated and released.

Polistina was traveling north when she crossed over the centerline and collided head-on with Pryor’s truck.

No summonses had been issued as of Thursday afternoon.

Galloway Police Fatal Reconstruction Unit, Galloway Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare Medics, Absecon Police and the Bayview Fire Department all responded to the scene.

The road was closed for about three hours.
